inDANCE live in Philadelphia and Connecticut, USA (Sept 23 and Oct 2, 2022)

To undo the numbness of somehow performing normalcy, through this, the third year of the Covid era, it was with unbound joy that inDANCE and I cherished the honor of performing with and presenting a true rebel Bharatanatyam artist from India:  The stoic volcano- Nrithya Pillai.

inDANCE’s Research Associate Dr. Davesh Soneji, our resident Maestro-Musicians Vaaraki Wijayaraj-Thavakumar, Kajajeyan Pararasasegaram, Mithuran Manogaran and I accompanied the resplendent Nrithya Pillai, in Bharatanatyam performances, exploring critical perspectives of its complex histories and aesthetic representations.

The combustive synergy of the dancer, musicians and audiences in LIVE performances is what we artists yearn for.

We are so grateful to have staged these live performances in the august Harold Prince Theater (Philadelphia) and Wesleyan University’s Crowell Concert Hall (Connecticut).
