Virtual Dance Talks, Munich Germany- Nov 5, 2022

Supported by the NATIONAL PERFORMANCE NETZ- STEPPING OUT, supported by the Federal Government Representative for Culture and Media within the framework of the NEUSTART KULTUR initiative, Munich based organization Chakkars Moving Interventions had invented selected artists and scholars, including Hari Krishnan for a series of virtual talks focusing on:

-How do racist power structures and discourse manifest in dance? How can we grasp, articulate, encounter and counteract them?

-What does this mean for the area of dance education? What does it mean to work with people with varying dance and physical knowledge?

-What does it mean to work with people who experience racism in their everyday life - an experience that is tied to the body, engraved in bodies?

-What does it mean for BIPOC dancers: in these circumstances always mediate (often) white decision-makers - in addition to the implementation of artistic work?

-How can we translate anti-racist strategies into the context of dance?
